Pumpkin Patch 2013
Charlie is part of a 4-year-old fellowship. Each mom hosts "school" at her house and is in charge of the pre-k activities for the day. Recently we took a field trip to the pumpkin patch. As you can see from the pictures, even Maggie enjoys going to "school".
The lady who was in charge of the pumpkin patch at the church was such a sweet lady and a true servant of Christ. She was so kind to the kids, wanting them to run around through the paths of pumpkins and encouraging us to spend as long as we wanted taking photo opts.

Princess Party
Andrea went to a party where they were pampered like princesses. They got to dress up. They danced down a runway with bubbles blowing and music blasting. They got manicures and pedicures. Then face painting and more dancing, and of course cake!

Dress-Up
I was a little concerned that with school starting it would be all work and no play around our house, but it's actually been a good balance.

Andrea Hope~ First Day of First Grade
Annie and Maggie spent some quality time together this morning before Annie's first day back to school.
Annie says, "Maggie, Annie is going to go to school, okay? But I'll come right back!"
Maggie with her darling blue eyes looking into Annie's as if they would part for 20 years, softly responds, "ookkkk!"

Do you think that she is excited?

Van Ride Convos
Maggie:
We're flipping through the radio stations and "Try" by Pink is playing. The kids start bobbing their heads so I leave it run. In case you have never heard it you'll need the refrain...
Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned
But just because it burns
Doesn't mean you're gonna die
You've gotta get up and try try try
Gotta get up and try try try
You gotta get up and try try try
When the song ends, wanting the song to play over again, Maggie yells, "TRY AGAIN!" (I just had to laugh at the irony.)
Charlie:
"Mom, you know now that I have my Spider Man toothbrush, we should have given my old Wall-E one to the poor children!"
Again I chuckle and suggested we pick a new toothbrush at the store tomorrow to donate to the poor children.
Andrea:
Andrea has been on this kick lately of how our family can save money to put a pool in our backyard.
1.) Save up our change and put it in a jar. (Everyone, you can come swim in our pool in 80 years.) ~had to laugh
2.) Go downstairs and get all our baby stuff and sell it.
I simply responded to the second option, "What do we do when we have another baby?"
Immediately, Andrea shouts from the back in surprise, "WHAT?" ~laughed all the way home

"Grown upy"
Click Below
Video of Charlie
We were watching mario brothers on Net Flix. It's a series from the 90's I guess. It is a cartoon, but it always starts with a live segment of actors role playing a skit as Mario and Luigi. When the live segment starts, Charlie always announces, "this is the grown upy part." Just wanted to clarify that we weren't letting our kids watch "grown upy" parts in movies that are not age-appropriate. Just thought it was a cute saying invented by Charlie bear.
