Our Wonderful Day

Today was just going to be a normal run of the mill day. I had some errands to run so my mom came by to ride along. I had to make some copies. Annie was sooooooooo excited to go to the "liberway." She picked out the new Tinkerbell movie and of course "Little Einsteins." I was so excited because they were selling a book for $1 (Hardback in great condition) that I've been meaning to read. Oh the little blessings! Then we went to the church to drop off a donation and the secretary offered Annie a lollipop. It all makes sense now why Annie sprints to the car on errand mornings. When we returned from our errands, Aunt Gina had called for an impromptu outing at the park. It just happened to be beautiful today and the forecast for the near future is rain and cold. Aunt Mary brought Emma since Emma had slept over and Gina met us at the St. Joseph's park, the perfect park for toddlers with the ramps and bucket swings, oh and I almost forgot the mulch for snacking. The girls got along great holding hands and pushing aunt Mary down the slide. Another little blessing today! Then for dinner we had Annie's favorite, "TOCOS and strawberry milk!" It was such a wonderful day and none of it was really planned. God sends us so many blessings!

Lights of the South

I never got to post these pictures and I want to remember the wonderful time that we had. Hopefully the whole family can go together next year. We could have spent 5 hours there if it wasn't freezing (I mean freezing for us Georgians!-I know you Ohians and Bozites are scoffing!) Anyways, enjoy the pics!

An Evening of Cold Stone Icecream

John and Annie went to Cold Stone. Before they left John must have prepped her because as I was putting on her jacket she said all in one breath, "Daddy and Annie go to get icecream, okay? We get icecream and get in da car and bring it back home to mommy and Charlie." John said she was so excited that the whole way she was bouncing in her carseat. At one point, he turned down the music to talk to her and she said, "Daddy what did you do to the music? He turned it back up and she started dancing and bobbing her head.
Once they got to Cold Stone, Annie was looking around. She said to John, "That's! That's! What's that daddy?" "Chocolate chips," John responded. "Yeah, CHOCOLATE CHIPS!" Annie exclaimed. She did this with the sprinkles and other candies. When she got to the Snickers she asked John again, "What's that?" John told her they were Snickers. "Those aren't stickers daddy!" John tried a couple times to tell her they were Snickers and then he said that they were candy bars. "Yeah candy bars!" she said.

We had a wonderful night of ice cream at home on a rainy evening. Thanks for the gift card Annie and James!

Alvin and the Chipmunks

Annie loved the first Alvin and the Chipmunks so much that my mom, Angela, and I thought it would be fun to take her to her first movie theater movie for the "Squeakual." She loved the movie especially when Alvin drives the helicopter and the motorcycle. Oh but we had to keep her from watching the previews. Alice in Wonderland looks quite creepy! After the moie she wanted to give Alvin a big hug!

Sharing

Annie is not the number one sharer. Her cousins can attest to this. However, today she made progress with understanding the idea of sharing. She said after lunch,
"Mama you SHARE some of your ice cream with me!" This was after she finished her bowl. I guess she was still on her "Cookies Theme." If you haven't heard the story. We were driving to a party, one of many of the Christmas parties, and we brought along cookies. Annie said, "WE HAVE COOKIES FOR EVERY PEOPLE!" This was very christ-like of her in the midst of the Christmas season.

Happy New Year!

My mom offered to watch the kids so we could go out as couples for New Year's Eve. We went to the Partridge Inn for a four course meal and dancing with the John Kolbeck band.

Joe and Angela love my face in this picture. They said that they are going to put it on all the birthday cards this year with a bubble that says "Happy Birthday!"

Happy New Year!

Jumping with Uncle Phil and Uncle Steve

Philip, being an engineer, is always working on new projects. Recently he helped one of his coworkers build some benches. He ordered the padding off of ebay. Normally it would be hundreds of dollars but he found a factory defect for like $40. It arrived while we were up in Ohio for Thanksgiving so all week the kids actually had a "padded room" to jump around and wrestle. Enjoy the video!

I told Philip if he found another factory defect to have it shipped to Augusta, but John was not in consensus. We love you Uncle Phil and Uncle Steve! We had a blast in Ohio!
