Halloween 2010

Halloween was actually relaxing and enjoyable this evening. We took the simpler the better approach this year. Brian and Gina said that we could come to their house. All our kids are still so little that we figured we'd just go to a few houses and then chill while the kids played.

We went around the block and then the kids had a major dance party in Uncle Brian's truck and then the garage. Emma and Annie have become such good friends. It makes my heart melt to hear Annie call Emma her "favorite friend" (her own version of best friend) and for Emma to call Annie her best friend. They get along so well right now and I am just treasuring the moments when their together.

Trick-or-Treat story:
We were trying to avoid SCARY houses but somehow the kids were running up to this one before we could stop them. There was eery music playing and the man had a white mask on his head. Annie turns to me excited and says, "MAMA I GOT CANDY FROM AN ALIEN!"

The prayers this evening just made the night the most memorable though. They went as follows:
Annie says, "Bless Grandma and Papa for coming "ober" to see us, bless Emma for playing with me, and bless Aunt Gina for giving us JUICE BOXES!"

Fire Truck

The Downtown library invited the Augusta Fire Department to come and share with the kids today. They got to climb in the truck, hold the hose, and even got cool hats! Fire fighters Annie and Adam Charlie the Fire Chief...Don't believe me? Check out the video below. Annie was not as excited to be a fire woman.

Pumpkin Month

At the library they glued orange pieces of paper onto their pumpkins. Even Charlie could do it since there were paintbrushes for him to use to dab the glue. Adam, his mom, and grandma met up with us for the library story and craft time. Then mommy and Ms. Renee had a rumbling in our tummies so we opted for Pizza Joint. Daddy was happy when he came home from work to find Pizza Joint leftovers in the fridge.

Since we went to the pumpkin patch together, Aiden, Adam, and their mommies decided to meet up again and paint the pumpkins. Ms. Tina made a Pamper Chef recipe for lunch that was scrumptious!

Charlie loves "Pukins" right now. We drive down the road and he starts yelling, "PUKINS! PUKINS!"

I brought special paints so Charlie could join in the fun too!

The Spider Hats that the moms were more excited about than the kids!

Relaxing Sunday

After a mad dash to get our house clean for our house warming party on Saturday, we relaxed on Sunday. We went to Mass in the morning together as a family. Annie did a great job sharing her pencils with Charlie Bear so he could color too. Then we went to grandmama's house for a delicious lunch of yummy meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and bread. The best part of the lunch was that grandma and papa were invited too! After lunch we played one of mommy's favorite games, R-A-C-K-O. Could it be my favorite game because I won both games? Perhaps? Then we went to watch daddy's soccer game. I have videos but blogger is not cooperating with videos right now.

Charlie's Big Boy Bed

Charlie has started sleeping in his bed this past week. Last night John had music practice for an event at Aquinas high school so I put both the kids to bed by myself. What a task. I realized that I am so not intimidating! I went through the bed time routine and then walked back and forth upstairs to try to check on both the kids. Charlie thought it was funny to slide off the bed as I went to check on Annie. I tried to be firm and put him back in the bed. Finally I headed downstairs. I went up 10 minutes later to find Charlie in ANNIE's closet with his sister. I couldn't even hold a straight face as Annie's face was so elated that her brother was now taking some of the parenting wrath away from her. She says with a smirk, "Oh Charlie just likes being in my closet. He just likes it so much." A few minutes later John comes home, places Charlie in his bed and closes the door. He opens it one time to tell Charlie to get back in his bed and Charlie listened! I feel like such a wimp.

Charlie at the Pumpkin Patch

Lost in the Jungle

The other day Annie is rambling 90 m.p.h. on her toy cell phone (I think it is sad that I feel the need to clarify it was a toy, not real). She and Emma were lost in the jungle. All of sudden, she snaps the cell phone closed, whirls around and says, "Whoo! Aunt Mary is coming to rescue us from the jungle!" Throughout the day Annie was lost in the jungle with all of her cousins and Aunt Mary never ceased in rescuing her nieces and nephews! Thanks Aunt Mary! :P

Utter Frustration

Annie was riding bikes the other day with our neighbor Wyatt. Lately she must start her bike with her keys, she already cannot wait to be 16. Then I hear her say, "D@!# it! D*@# it! I can't find my FREAKIN keys!" I was disappointed as her mom, because she gets the first part from Daddy's temper and the second part from my impatience. I felt awful as I was wondering what Miss Beth, Wyatt's mom was thinking. It's like when I was teaching and the kids would start telling me things at school. I would think of how horrified the parent would feel if they knew their child just shared the inner workings of his home with his teacher. Now, I was on the other side feeling horrified. It was definitely a lesson for me in taming my tongue and getting more organized so I can find my keys when we need to leave.

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We went to the library for story time with Charlie's buddy Willem and they talked about spiders. Thus the spider hats.

Then we met up with Annie's buddies, Adam and Aiden, for lunch at Gary's and the pumpkin patch.

Charlie and Shoes

Charlie is loving the dress shoes right now. John doesn't really like it but I say let him get the urge out now and not when he's 20. I think he looks cute!

A Nice Saturday

What a great afternoon! I got to watch the Gamecocks win an amazing win with my son chillin at my side.

Dinner with the Ceyssens

We had a wonderful time with the Ceyssens! I made tomato soup that turned out great thanks to Gina. Anna made a great triple chocolate cake. It was great to see all the kids play so well.

Annie Quotes

"I'm getting bigger, but I'm not big yet." ~As her mom, I say that she can say this as long as she wants.

"I love you with my whole sweetheart." That's because she's just so sweet.

Campfire

Now that it is so cold we made a fire in our outdoor fireplace. That thing is awesome. It was really nice and there will be more to come. If you ever need a warm fire just come on over.

We had fun singing songs and laughing by the fire.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Annie was thinking about papa on his birthday and sharing in his distain for kitty-cats. We hope you enjoy this video papa! Happy Birthday!
Annie was having the "I want a puppy conversation" with us. We asked her waht kind and she said come to the computer and I will show you. (What did we ever do without the Internet? Even my 3 year is dependent on it.) She proceeds, "Pull up the blue screen and push the button and the puppy will come up on the 'PUDER'." We saw lots of cute dogs but one was of a cat and dog hugging and Annie said, "THAT'S DISGUSTING!" (after daddy said it of course).
