Annie enjoys role-playing lately whether it is dressing up her stuffed animals or playing with her little people in her dollhouse. Lately she asks if I'll be the student so she can be the teacher.

Grandma's Retirement from Teaching

Well grandma retired from teaching fifth grade this year. She wants to spend more time with the grandkids, especially since we have 3 new grandkids coming in the next few months. Papa was kind enough to get her a new car to use to visit all her grandkids.

A Lovely Dinner

Our friends Chris and Tina came over with their kids Aiden and Elsie Claire for dinner and Andrew and Renee with their son Adam. Adam has been such a good friend to Annie these past couple of years but it has been neat lately to see Adam and Charlie get along so well. You can see in the video below.

Green Jackets Game

We went for a walk last week around the lake and the kids were fascinated by the sounds of the game and announcers. John suggested that we go to the game on Thursday so the kids could experience a baseball game and I think that he may have wanted to enjoy "Thirsty Thursdays". Anyways, we went and Aunt Monica and her friend Carmen joined us for the walk to the stadium and the game.

New Addition to the Pool

Okay so John had an ingenius idea and decide to prop the slide over the edge of the pool. Annie and Charlie thought that this was great!

Charlie's Buddy Andrew's B-Day

The kids played in the yard. Annie drove the car with some help from Andrew. Charlie played some ball with Michael Prohaska and Josh Ciamello. After swimming, the kids enjoyed some food and cake. What a great way to spend this hot 100 degree summer day in May!

Swimming for the Summer

We set up our princess slip n slide for the kids and they enjoyed it so much we figured it was time for the pool. Here are the kids enjoying the water. Notice Annie is actually playing in the water. Hooray!

Charlie Throwing the Frisbee

Charlie is improving on his frisbee throw. John even took him to the disc golf course after work this week. John said he had a blast just walking from basket to basket throwing the frisbee.

Charlie's First Guitar Lesson

During Charlie's potty breaks we have to be creative in convincing him to sit for five minutes. Today Annie offered to give Charlie a guitar lesson.

One of the joys of my job is that many times younger siblings come and play with Annie while I work with their older siblings. One day Elle came and hung out with Annie for a few hours. They were two peas in a pod. Annie was excited Tuesday night when she got to see her friend Elle again and her friend Lily at the talent show. They sat together talking and laughing for the first half and then Lily's dad was nice enough to take them to play on the playground for the second half. We were able to enjoy the second half of the show, and I especially enjoyed watching my student, Lauren, perform her piece that she had practiced for weeks.

Okay so we have set into baby mode. With a new one on the way we are potty training Charlie and prepping Annie to be a big sister again. John told Annie that she needs to help us now when John and I are cleaning the house. He had her carry a bag upstairs and the chore took quite some time. Here is the video footage.

It's been awhile since a posting. We just did our Piano and Guitar Recital this Sunday which went well but was consuming much of my time.

I will try to add some fun events from our lives over the next few days but today I needed to stop and tell everyone that Charlie went pee pee's on the potty today! Yeah Charlie!
