Annie's Take on St. Patrick's Day

Annie talked about St. Patrick's Day for weeks before it arrived. She also knew it was Monica's birthday so she combined the holiday!

A Rare Post from Daddy

So the kids started a new game with us. The origins are that I was chiding Annie for whining about everything. I said how would you like it if Daddy was whining about going to work. Then Michelle said, "you have to go to work so we can get food and drinks and gas in the car...". To which I reply "No!! I don't want that". They love the game. Charlie sticks to the same couple of words, but Annie tries to be creative. The video is long, but Annie brings it home in end. Pay attention to how much thought Annie puts into her last word.

Annie on the Guitar

We were invited to go to a classical music concert at Alleluia School the other night. We've gone in the past and it is really incredible to hear the musicians share their talents. We've been so busy lately, we decided to stay home. I could not be happier we chose to stay home since Annie entertained us all night with her own classical music concert on the guitar.

Annie's Performance

See the translation below. It's not perfect, but you get the idea:

Still have some more
I’ll have some more and no and the ready for some branches of wind really cares branches of the wind really cares and burning of the burning sea glass.
Of the lord and sing all of the wind, the wind is not ala li la li
it’s not really real but you know it’s, But I know everything about her. This is okay. I I okay

Annie and Princesses

Last week we went to see Cinderella, the musical. Annie talked about how the step-sisters were not very nice to Cinderella or each other. As they walked down the aisle, Annie had her lip turned down and nodded her head left and right showing she did not approve. (Sorry, I didn't capture the face on camera.) The days following, John decided to use Cinderella's step-sisters as an example. He would say, "Annie, you don't want to be whiny like those step-sisters. She responded, "They're not whiny, they're ANGRY!" Then John reminded her that she should share with Charlie, reminding her that it wasn't kind when the step-sisters did not share with Cinderella to which she responded, "Charlie is not sharing like the mean step-sisters."

This week we went to see Tangled which Annie thoroughly enjoyed. She said afterwards, "There were a very lot of mean parts in that movie." How do you explain to a 3 year old that there must be a villain to make the Disney love story come true. My mom was saying how she thought we might have to leave because Annie was getting a little scared of the villains, but how she hoped we could stay to the end. We watched it all the way to the "Happily Ever After."
When we got home, John asked, "So do you want to be like Rapunzel and become a princess?. Annie responded, "Nah, you would have to brush a lot of hair all the time."
Today Annie wanted to wear her Snow White dress to Catechisis. I asked her to wear a different dress and she agreed. When we got to Catechisis, her friend Avela had on a purple tutu princess dress. I told Annette, her teacher, our morning and she said that it was fine if they wanted dress up like princesses to come to Catechisis. I guess it would be appropriate since they are daughters of the King.

Charlie's Irish Rhythm

Charlie kept the beat to the Irish tune with his daddy. We were at a St. Patrick's Day party tonight with our friends Kenny and Leslie. As they were playing, I said,"Look our kids love Irish music!" as they watched intently through the night. John replied, "Everyone loves Irish music."

What's in a Name?

Annie decided that when she gets older she is going to change her name to Mary. Many of us figured it was because she loves her Aunt Mary so much, but when we inquired, she said she wanted to be like the Mary with Joseph. I told her that if she wanted to be like mother Mary, perhaps someday she will be a nun and she could be called Sister Mary. She nodded and went about playing. Even if she changes her name, she will always be the Andrea Hope we all know and love.

Charlie singing "Close Your Eyes"

Sorry you cannot see them but it was dark outside by the fire. I tried to brighten it but didn't have much luck. If you turn up the volume though, I am sure you will enjoy!
