What's New this Week?

Well daddy got a new truck. Annie said, "This is super! This is way better than a car. " Charlie said, "This is awesome!" about 20 times because if anyone has been around Charlie he says stuff over and over until everyone around him acknowledges that it was said. I guess maybe our middle child needs some attention. Another new event in our house this week is.............. Maggie went poo poo on the potty. The past few days she has come and would jibber jabber while holding her diaper and then walk over to the changing table. So John and I had talked about the possibility of her being ready for potty training. Today Maggie came right to me and was holding her diaper while trying desperately to tell me something. Then she would grunt a little so we took Maggie to her potty which has been chillin in our bathroom and had her sit. I know that she will not be fully potty trained for awhile but hey at least today we saved at least 20 cents on a diaper. Way to be frugal Maggie!

Disney on Ice

(Our tired children in their pjs after an afternoon at the Disney on Ice) We went to Disney on Ice. I actually remembered the camera but then left the memory card in the computer at home. So I have no pictures, but the stories alone are worth the blog. Mickey and Minnie drive onto the ice and their car breaks down and they say, "Too bad there isn't a tow truck around." Charlie starts grinning from ear to ear, and says, "Mater!" Sure enough Mater peels onto to the ice with his forward and backwards driving. Seeing cars race on the ice was really cool to watch, no pun intended. Next the skaters moved around with big blue flowing ribbons and bubbles came down from the ceiling. Now Andrea's face was lit up as Ariel entered the scene. My favorite part really was just enjoying the kids as their favorite characters came onto the ice. Now the funniest part of the afternoon was a conversation with Andrea during intermission. The picture above shows the ginormous mugs for snow cones. They were pricey and you couldn't get the snow cone without the mug. This lead into another of many economic discussions we've had with our kids lately. I told Annie how many dollars we spent on the snow cones so we couldn't get anymore toys. She saw the concessions man walk by with a popcorn with a Mc Queen hat and said, "Those are only $1. I saw that kid hand the popcorn man only 1 dollar." So I reminded her of when they were earning money for her school carnival just a few weeks ago. They had to trade in their 20 one-dollar bills for 1 twenty dollar bill to pay for their wrist bands. This made her realize that the popcorn might be 10 or 20 dollars and that was expensive like her princess snow cone mug. Later Andrea needed a straw because her snow cone was more slushie-like. I told her that her Sebastion spoon (pictured above) was not only a spoon but also a straw. Andrea exclaims, "OH IT'S A GOOD THING I LIKE EXPENSIVE STUFF."

Fun Friday

Andrea had the day off so Adam, Ayden and Elsie came over for lunch (Mummy Hotdogs, chips and dirt pudding for dessert)
Elsie and Maggie (Best Buds) Cute Story- We had conferences right before our little picnic so Tina and I switched off watching the kids while the other went to talk with the teacher. My niece Savannah was on the playground with us too while her mom was in a conference. She was carrying Elsie around for a minute and then said, "Oops that's not my cousin Maggie. The two girls really do look a lot alike right now.

Our Saturday

The wonderful thing about helping out with youth group is the lifelong friends that we make. It was so great to see Mary today. She came home from SCAD for the weekend and made time to come see us, well probably more so our kids, or perhaps both.
Charlie is making a "Popeye" face!
On our explorations outdoors today, we found the biggest caterpillar I have ever seen.
We also keep finding these lizards or geckoes that have these striped tails. The first time I saw one was on our stroller when Monica and I were running. I screamed when I saw the striped tail slither thinking it was a snake.
All photos taken by Mary Scheirer. Thank you for sharing your gifts with our family.

Charlie's Cute Sayings

Charlie finishes his food and proceeds to say, "I'm full of it."

Our Evening

Monday nights have been fun lately since we've had our nephew Sean the past few weeks. Annie and Charlie love making forts with Sean and chasing him around. It's been so nice in the evenings that they usually migrate outside to run around or jump in the bouncy house. Last night we decided we would take advantage of the nice weather and make a fire, hopefully the first of many this fall season.

Pigtails!

Monica put Maggie's hair in pigtails. They made her look so cute that I could just eat her up.
