Thank you Grandma!
Grandma, thank you so much for the loving hours you put into these adorable Angry Bird hats. Now when Andrea goes to get into the van she freaks out until she has her red angry bird hat on her head. It was fun watching our kids running around the house in them tonight.

Quiet Evening
Monica stopped by and picked up Charlie to go on a date with her Godson. Charlie said they had fun at the airport watching the planes take off. Then they went and got his favorite cookies, Mom's cookies. He made sure to bring some home for the rest of us. At dinner we've been following some Advent meditations. Each night has a word and the words go in alphabetical order. Charlie gets to guess the letter that he thinks he sees on the page (He has gotten most of them right. We're so proud!) Then Annie tells us what she thinks the word might mean. So Charlie guessed "Q" tonight and the word was "Quiet." It was that sort of night. The house was clean so it felt so peaceful as we sat down for dinner. After dinner we made hot cocoa to enjoy with our "Mom's Cookies." It was nice to have a quiet evening at home with our little ones in the midst of all the hustle bustle of this season.

The kids got to watch a reenactment of the Polar Express on the locomotive in the history museum downtown. This picture shows the children exiting the train with their reindeer bells.

Road Trip to Ohio
So I was probably the most excited out of all of us to go to Ohio. I just could not wait to see my sister's new little baby. However, with 3 little ones you have to take a trip to Ohio in strides. We used to make it in 9 and a half hours driving through the night when it was just the two of us. This time we took two days with a hotel stay in the middle (which the kids absolutely loved).
To break up the monotony of the trip for the kid this road trip found a disc golf course along the route. It was in Ashe County North Carolina right in the middle of the mountains. We got out and played a round and the kids tagged along. When we passed each playground, there were 3, the kid meandered over to climb for a few minutes until we moved to the next hole. There were also a ton of doggies with the other disc golfers and duckies on the lake so Maggie was in disc golf heaven as well. The kids were tired after being out in the cool fresh air and fell right to sleep at the hotel. We got up the next morning and ate a warm breakfast before getting back on the road.
The long two day trip was totally worth it to see these 2 PRICELESS FACES:

Happy 4th Birthday Pirate Charlie
(Charlie wanted to do a "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" Theme
I called my sister to tell her the theme. We hung up and she called back within 5 minutes with the best ideas of how we could make a pirate ship cake. We had a blast coming up with new details for each part of the cake.
Arrrrg! Arrrg! Arrrg! Arrrg!
Happy 4th birthday my sweet sweet Charlie Bear!
