It's Thursday night. We are watching our run-of-the-mill shows. Suddenly we here a clanging sound. John reacts, "Did you hear that?" I said, "It sounded like keys." I even thought it may have been glass breaking. John asked, "Where did it come from?" All I knew was that it was from behind me but wasn't sure from which room the sound came. He jumped up, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary so he went around and locked the doors just in case. Just as we started to relax, the phone rang. We both started commenting, "Who would call us at 10 o'clock?" I look at the caller I.D. and it is John's cell phone number. "It's you," I said. We both had those faces you see on scary movies as we thought how can John be calling us when he is sitting right there. John ran into our room and hidden under our covers was Annie snickering. We never heard her come down the stairs and she was so flat under the covers, John did not see her when he came into the room earlier. We all had a good laugh and then we made sure Annie made it back upstairs.
WHAT WAS CHARLIE DOING THIS WHOLE TIME? YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE US IF YOU DIDN'T SEE THESE PICTURES!
HE IS HOLDING HIS BODY UP WITH HIS ARMS IN HIS SLEEP. IT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING EITHER OF US HAD EVER SEEN!

What's happening w/ JR's family this week?
Maggie is 2 months old!!! I am proud to announce that she slept from 11-7 last night. ( I know that nobody else is as excited as mommy and daddy.)
Annie decided that she must practice her back flips ( Backward somersaults on the couch) and balancing on our oh so narrow coffee table so she's almost ready for the tightrope. She says when she grows up she will be in the circus and a teacher like her mommy.
Charlie is, well Charlie! Flipping, wrestling, & jumping on the couch.

My Laid-Back Birthday Party
My brothers were in town so John decided to cook out Saturday night. Since my birthday was Wednesday my mom grabbed a cake and icecream. We called grandma and papa to join us. Aunt Amy brought Addie to play with Annie since the two of them had the night free. It was a very peaceful, joy-filled evening.

Annie and Charlie Walking Cocoa
Papa and Aunt Amy chillin
Kate and Steven teaming up for Polish Horseshoes
Charlie with His Buddy Uncle Philip
The girls played dress-up. Annie's face tells me that she hasn't found her true love yet at the age of four.

Playing in the Rain
There is nothing better than playing in a cool hard rain after this hot, humid summer. The kids and "Kids at Heart" were so excited when it started to pour. We stood on the porch and Annie asked if she could play in the rain. I was not going to deny my daughter (especially since she is normally petrified of getting water in her eyes) the joy of playing in the rain. Of course her brother (who is all boy) was right behind her. We spun in the rain, jumped in puddles and tried to catch the river of water that was gushing from the spout with the dump truck and buckets. Thank you Lord for a good rain this evening!
