Snow Day

I have to admit that we didn't just jump into the snow when it came this time. Maybe because we just got back from Ohio where there was a heap of snow. When I asked Annie she was content to play dress up with her dolls rather than go outside. When Charlie got up from his nap I thought, "This is ridiculous. Who knows if we will get snow like this again for a few years." I asked Charlie if he wanted to go outside to which he responded. "Outide! Outide!" So I bundled him. Then of course Annie saw her brother and quickly changed her mind and decided to join us. Our outdoor patio covering blocked the icy rain so the snow that blew under it was really fun to use to make snowballs to throw at each other. The rest of the time, John and I just enjoyed watching Annie and Charlie tossing ice chunks in the air so they would smash on the ground.

Yay snow! It's our gift from Ohio. We have lots to spare. Is it as bad as everyone makes it sound, or just a lot of snow for the south?

It was an ice storm so it makes it more dangerous around here. Most tree limbs don't fall during the winters so when the icy rain comes, they freeze and fall. This can sometimes take down a lot of power lines, leaving people without heat.
